Every year September brings the biggest excitement of the year, because this is the month when the most prestigeous event of welsh corgi pembrokes is waiting breed enthusiasts from all over the world. Without any doubt this is the biggest event of the breed every year. The 5 days long event is placed in gigantic hotels where all exhibitors and dogs have the highest comfort. The number of dogs is above 400 !
On this professional event every year a different judge is judging, who are all reputable breeder judges. There are much more classes to enter than in Europe and the entry numbers are higher also. When you visit this show there is one word in your head all the time and it is professionalism to the smallest details. Here you can learn so much about handling, grooming, sportmanship and even about the breed on the several educations from understanding the standard to understand and see it in practise with the help of mentors.
We were here 2 years ago with Signo, who took 2nd place in the Puppy Sweepstakes, and Chip was shortlisted among the Champions (170 dogs).
In 2024, Waikiki and Lika represented our kennel, as well as Queen Charlotte, who had her first exhibition here, in the baby class.
Lika made breed history that day, as she became the first European dog (the first dog not from the American continent!) to win the Open class, and after comparing all female class winners, judge Mr. Bill Shelton (Coventry kennel) chose her as the owner of the WINNERS BITCH title.
The feeling was simply indescribable. Unbridled joy and celebration began. It was also amazing to experience how happy people are in America and how much they recognize the work of others.
However, for us, this is the realization of a dream that one does not even dare to dream. The greatest appreciation for our work as breeders, which we will never, ever forget and of which we are terribly proud.
